The mismatched eyes are known scientifically as heterochromia, a condition found in myths and fairytales to be most common among seers or fortune tellers. Yuna is no seer, but the colors of her eyes are significant because they demonstrate just how much Yuna is carrying on her shoulders. Think about it: in Yuna, two bloodlines unite. The frictions between the Al Bhed and Yevon meet and intertwine, are forced to reconcile, in Yuna. One eye green and the other blue, gifts from an Al Bhed mother and a Yevonite father whose love withstood even a rift of that depth; Yuna seems to be fated for her role in history. In one move, she can unite two warring factions, defeat Sin, and bring hope to a world sorely in need of it. Which brought me to the question…hell, was she genetically engineered or something?
